Sirane completes 'roast chicken' packaging system

Sira-Cook PA's nylon material absorbs the fat released during cooking, ensuring crisp, clean food, says Sirane.

Cooking poultry in a bag can reduce cooking times significantly, stops the meat drying out and crisps the bird.

Bags can be used for chickens, turkeys and other large joints of meat including whole salmon.

However, the machine has been manufactured primarily for bagging chickens, with quality-tested nylon roasting bags and a machine for bagging 40 chickens a minute

Jeremy Haydn-Davies, Sirane's sales director for food packaging, said it is a good way to add value to the retail product. "Using a nylon roasting bag, the meat stays succulent in the bag, along with all the flavours. Extra ingredients, such as herbs, sauces and spices, can easily be added to the bag.

"The bags are strong and robust – they won't go brittle during cooking like many roasting bags – and simply need to be pierced on the top by the customer before cooking," he said.
